generous encouragements and appreciation from dear friends of the community

never too late … my humble appreciation and apologies

I am so remiss at accepting nominations from blogger friends who give a moment to appreciate my efforts, to Katy @ PraguebyKaty and Kz @ The Ecclectic Eccentric Shopaholic, my apologies.  I pray that it is not too late to acknowledge your kindness and encouragement.

Katy @ PraguebyKaty granted me a nomination for a “Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award“.

 sisterhood-of-the-world-bloggers-award

I am grateful that in the short span of time that we were exchanging delight over each other’s efforts by consistently liking posts, she graciously gifted me with the nomination.  In order to pay it forward, I am nominating ten blogger “sisters” for the same, who in their own unique perspectives and writing styles have brought nuggets of wisdom and fun into the sisterhood of blogging:

  • Nominate 10 blogs that you find a joy to read.
  • Provide links to the blogs and inform the recipients they have been nominated.
  • Include the award logo within your post.

light bulb concept

Kz has a passion to share her time and effort at creating beautiful posts.  Her photography and written descriptions are delightful journals of who she is that I constantly look forward to seeing and reading them.  Likewise, in order to give back to the community such a privilege, I am nominating the following for the same:

Acceptance of a nomination is a tedious and serious project; yet, in the process I have learned to appreciate the efforts put into it by those who find the moment to give it to members of the blogging community they are pleased with.

Again, I would like to give my sincere gratitude to those who have constantly encouraged and appreciated my own creative efforts at making my little space in the blogging world become a tiny spark of inspiration.

humbly, thank you …

Last November was significantly a special month.   Not only did it entail a celebration of my 51st but it was filled with blessings beyond what I thought I would ever receive.

Bob’s retirement commenced on the 5th day and God had affixed HIS imprints on our journey in this new phase of our life together.  Despite my apprehensions when Bob confided this reality, impishly with his charm, rebuked me that we should be expectant of God’s plans for us.

Then, my attempts to write and glorify God and to capture what I thought were images of joy and shared them through a web blog started to gain glimpses from people who has continued to encourage me.  And every “like” and “comment” would tug at my heart as a glimmer of gracious appreciation that truly touches my being!  With that said I humbly thank every one of you who has done such affable deed to further inspire me.

Much to my delight, Gracie of Frames and Focus bestowed nominations on me which were such great pats on the back and I humbly thank her again.

Then, Sarah of a Diary of a House Elf  granted me another great favor by giving me the Beautiful Blogger Award adding more motivation and confidence to my endeavors.  I must apologize though for not immediately responding to her kindness, but with all of my heart, I humbly THANK YOU, Sarah.

Below are seven things about me that I am sharing so that the tradition of the awards will continue on.  Although I am quite timid to do as requested, I hope this translates the joy I am feeling at the moment.

  1.  I am first, a child of God.
  2.  My name is April, always Bob’s wife.
  3.  A mother of three beautiful “kids” (will always refer to them as such).
  4.  I am enjoying my REAL time with Bob, because for the past 28 years of our life together I had to share my time with him with work and office-related stuff … now I have his full attention!
  5.  I write from the heart … as God whispers and I listen.
  6.  I have my quirks; you can ask Bob about them 😉
  7.  Seeing the world is a passion which God has gifted me with opportunities to do and praying that He will allow me more!

Whew!  That was tough … but I hope you got to know me more!

I am choosing to pay the love forward by bestowing the same AWARD to these beautiful bloggers …

Gracie of Frames and Focus – witness the beauty of the world through her camera lens and be mesmerized

Mr. B of This Man’s Journey – experience the warmth and love of family life as he narrates beautiful moments with his wife and adorable son

a tug in my heart that hopefully tugs yours …

Gracie of Frames and Focus generously nominated my humble blog for which I am truly overjoyed and grateful. Initially, all I wanted was to share my moments with Bob, being his wife for twenty eight years and knowing in my heart that GOD is the lone author of our love story which is not perfect but has withstood the tests of the seasons, all because of HIS grace.  To add zing to the snippets of thoughts and memories, I inserted my own photos of our travels together and with some, the kids in tow.

My spiritual discoveries in my life’s journey appended dimension that spoke of God’s love and faithfulness. As the tug in my heart grew increasingly hefty, I desired to share the footsteps of my journey with Bob to the world through my nominal writing endeavor.  And recently, a blogger friend blessed me with a gentle pat on my back with such an encouragement that what I started is indeed making sense at all.

In this regard, I would like to thank her from my heart by sharing a photo I treasure.  This one was taken in one provincial trip our family took down south of the islands.  It was one of the most beautiful sunsets I have seen that spoke of God’s presence in my life.  The bursts of colors of the skies and the silhouette of the world’s perfectly cone-shaped volcano (which is called the MAYON Volcano) tugged at my heart with such a thump that I was lost in worship for God’s beautiful creation.  I share this with Gracie, to make her smile as she remembers the beauty of the Philippines.  I hope the tug in my heart tugs at hers as well, because even if Gracie and I are separated by miles and oceans, we still are connected by our heritage.

Again, thank you, Gracie … Mabuhay!

and these are seven other bloggers who have continued to encourage me and have been walking me through with their inspiring written posts and beautiful photography.  please find the time to be inspired as well!
