It says in Isaiah 53, verse 6 :
All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all
To fall on Him.
Sheep fall prey to the frailest of reason. Most times bringing them to the brink of danger. Thus, we are compared to them, conveniently manifesting our weakness. As told, each one stumbles … goes astray … turns away … and these circumstances fell on the Lord which HE nailed to the tree.
This is a prophesy in the old testament that was completed in the new. He bore all our iniquities that fell on HIM separating the Son from His Father’s love. But in victory, by the Father’s grace, Jesus rose from death and found favor in God’s heart. A triumph we can share when we accept and believe.
Although we ourselves continue to fall because of our sinfulness, we have been forgiven. Not a convenient reason to indulge God’s graciousness, but to be thankful for this undeserved privilege that falls on us … a chance at life eternal through our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ and to be transformed into HIS likeness for always.
