for nipa hut
The nipa hut is an indigenous abode in the rural provinces made of bamboo and “anahaw” (a palm plant variety) leaves. The bamboo slots are tied or nailed together to form the main portions of wall and floor. The thatched roofing made of overlapping leaves makes for a cool temperature inside the hut and great waterproofing protection against the rains as well.
Today, they are more cabanas used in resorts all over the islands more than real homes and they make beautiful native accents to the local feel of the area.
