1 Kings 19, verses 11 and 12 —
“The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.”Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.”
We don’t see God in the main turn around, trials, circumstances of our lives when these become venues of His miraculous ways. Maybe there are times when we wait for Him to manifest His power to supersede the events yet we do not see and experience it. At times, we question the reasons why we are left out in the arena of fear hoping for heaven’s sanctuary but it seems that it is so far away.
All we have to do at this point is stay quiet, be attuned to the silence and open our hearts to listen to God’s whispers. We need to step back from the noisy activities of life and rest in God’s gentle voice to know what we need to hear. We should compel ourselves to stop and rest and reflect on our inner self because the Lord knows us in depth and in there we can truly hear Him speak.
As we are ingrained in our problems, adversities, abundance and worldly successes, our hearts are caught in these circumstances, leaving God no room to nestle and whisper His gentle reminder, assurance, and love.
Let us not miss on God’s gentle whispers because they are shout outs of HIS love for you and me.
